The minimum wage table and the paycheck math on this site are also available as two free MCP servers. An assistant can look up a state's current and scheduled minimum wage, compare states, and work out take-home pay or a salary-to-hourly conversion using current rates instead of what it remembers from training. Neither needs an account or an API key.

Common questions

How is take-home pay calculated?

Your gross salary minus federal income tax (IRS brackets and the standard deduction), Social Security (6.2% up to the wage base), Medicare (1.45%), and your state income-tax rate. The result is divided by your chosen pay frequency.

Which states have no income tax?

Nine states charge no tax on wage income: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Your only payroll deductions there are federal income tax and FICA.

Is this calculator accurate?

It is a close estimate using standard federal and FICA figures and a simplified state rate. It does not include pre-tax deductions like 401(k) or HSA, local or city taxes, or credits, so verify with your employer or a payroll professional.

Does it handle different pay frequencies?

Yes. Choose weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or annual and the take-home figure updates instantly to show pay per period alongside your annual total.
